Sometimes the simplest solution will fix the problem

The simple solution sometimes ends up being the overlooked solution. When faced with problems it always helps to take a step back and think through the issue. Recently my truck has had starting issues, where when starting it wouldn't work, and the problem appeared to be the engines starter. Because it appeared to be the starter, I removed it and brought it to a auto parts store to get it tested. Testing the starter was easy and it came back without a problem, the started worked fine. I reinstalled the working part in my truck and then pulled the starter relay and bought a new part and installed it. The issue wasn't resolved. Looking back through the engine area under the hood, I discovered the real root of the problem which happened to be the connection to the battery. The positive connection was loose, loose to the point where it was causing the engine to not start properly or not start at all. I tightened the connection for both positive and negative cables and boom the issue was resolved.

Overlooking the simple solution is always a frustrating situation, but it does indeed happen. The problem that seemed large was in fact simple and easy to fix. In life we encounter major issues that aren't so major, we focus on the specifics and ignore possible solutions because our focus is so narrowly fixed on one thing. Taking a step back and thinking through what is going on we can see what is actually happening.
