Spin fires employees just before Christmas

Spin has refined its business model in the San Diego area, and have decided to terminate scooter chargers as employees before the end of year and start of 2020. The hope is to refine its operations to become profitable and reduce costs of running a scooter rental company.

It’s unfortunate how the decision was made around holiday season to let go I half a dozen people in the San Diego area but that is just how businesses do it. Pink slips during end of year is the new way companies just look out for themselves instead of the people who are within the business. Capitalism at its finest and not something that should be of any sort of surprise. It would’ve been nice to be given this bad news at a less in opportune time but life throws lemons every day so can’t dwell on it.

This happening is really just a warning to anyone who has invested their time in this industry, the morning is clear these type of businesses will do what’s best for their bottom line and at the cost of peoples livelihoods. No surprise should be there actually because that’s just how business is run themselves into hopeful profits. If you’re in deep the charging scooter industry keep in mind that it could shift on you. Such as the shift last year in 2018 when Bird, Lime, and other companies reduced their payouts drastically making it not really profitable to be a scooter charger.
